Zephyr is a new jailbreak app developed by chpwn that adds new clever and impressive swipe gesture functionality to your iPhone that will let you handle multitasking quickly. With Zephyr installed you’ll be able to swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone and get to the app switcher pane, without having to double tap the home button. Pretty much the same thing that you can do on the iPad now, but for the iPhone.
Besides being able to swipe up to bring up the multitasking pane, you can also swipe left or right and switch between already running apps. This is a really powerful feature and works pretty well. So let’s say you’re in Mail and also have Reeder running, you can swipe to the right and seamlessly change apps. No more having to double tap the home button, finding the next app, and tapping its icon.
Below is a video demo of this hack from chpwn that demonstrates more features of Zephyr. You can find this mod in the Cydia store under the BigBoss repository. For now there are not too many swipe gestures provided with Zephyr but more will be added in the near future. If you have any ideas for what gestures you’d like to see added to Zephyr, add a comment below.
