limera1n lets you jailbreak your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G, and iPad, and best of all limerain works with the latest 4.1, 4.0.2, and 4.0. iOS firmware. Installing the limera1n is very simple. You just download the .exe or .app file, and run it while your iDevice is connected to your computer. Click the only button labelled “make it ra1n” which does the rest.

So now you just need to grab the limera1n files:

Windows: limera1n.exe (Windows icon)
Mac: limera1n.app (Apple icon)

As always, back up your device, and keep in mind that jailbreaking your device is not supported by Apple and may cause issues. So proceed at your own risk! Limera1n is developed by George Francis Hotz (aka geohot) who has previously released many other jailbreak tools such s blackra1n.

2. limera1n does not work on my phone. Running 4.0 software version. Goes into DFU mode for ever and nothing happens. How long should it take in DFU mode?
   Please help.

3. It worked on second try, i kept the finger on “home button” too long the fist time i guess.. second try following this video worked..saw the “green drop” log,o it shut down and then restarted i saw the icons…im ready to start hackin”’ thx guys….

4. works perfect the first time. just got the iphone 4 last night its ios 4.1 and today is 12-5-2010.
   NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. and im not good at tech stuff. Thanks guys and keep up the great work!!!

5. I’ve gotta a question, once i do all of that, how do i download the apps from my itouch. Because when i tap cydia and search for the desired app (e.g. angry birds), it does not appear. Am i doing it wrong?
