Survivor X review

Are you a fan of really violent fighter games? Survivor X from Zenuz Lab is an action packed iPhone game that provides you with the opportunity to fight hard and to the death. A self-proclaimed vivid description declaring, “kill’em-all game,” Survivor—last man standing—and X—hardcore!—is all about the guts and the glory. You have the option to buy the all-inclusive version for $0.99, or get the Lite version free. You can use it on any one of the Holy Trinity of Apple devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad).

The graphics for Survivor X are modeled after a comic book and the premise is that you are a hero (of course), fighting off monsters. In each level you get weapon and super power upgrades. What people may not realize about these kinds of app games, is that it takes a tremendous amount of concentration and coordination to win.

You have to fire off countless rounds, making sure to aim correctly, while simultaneously maintaining your sense of direction. It is definitely challenging and complex with 5 whole pages of directions under the Help screen, breaking down the code-like verbiage and the cryptic symbology into layman’s terms and arrow-riddled diagrams, respectively. In addition, you are given an in-depth tutorial when you first start the game. In true P.C. fashion you get to choose between a male hero, Commando or a female hero, Mage. Once you start playing you quickly realize how brutal a hero’s world is.

Blood literally shoots and oozes out of the characters in spurts, it probably should not be recommended for someone with a weak stomach. Each of the adversaries thrown at you carries with it a certain amount of resources, which upon destruction, you get to steal.

Survivor X is a stellar game in the world of gory shooter games. It has heroes who glide through the air Mortal Combat-style, an arsenal of weapons, and enemies that just will not die. You are not likely to get bored with Survivor X. It presents constant challenges and it is arduous work to rise through the levels; it took me a whole week to get to level 2!
