The iPhone dev team has released PwnageTool 3.1.4 for the MAC which will unlock and jailbreak OS 3.1.2 on most iPhone or iPod touch devices. The way this tool works is to you use the Pwnage tool to create a new 3.1.2 .ipsw file for your specific device.
