With their new iPhone app, Shoeboxed Inc. strives to make your life easier by keeping track of your expenses and receipts. The Shoeboxed app allows you to take a photo of receipts for pretty much anything while you’re on the go, so you can stop accumulating them in your wallet (you can also add a note to the receipt). Once you upload the receipt photo, the people over at Shoeboxed will enter the date, total, payment type, store, and category for you to view on your iPhone or your account online–it’s like having your own personal assistant on hand.

With those entries, you can then submit expense reports right there from your iPhone (or from your account). You can also export expense reports to programs such as Quickenbooks or Excel. With Shoeboxed, you don’t need to carry a travel scanner, scan receipts, deal with the data entry, or hoard receipts until you can figure them out later. It certainly makes traveling for business easier, so those that do should probably check this helpful app out. Be aware, though, that while the app is free, using the processing services of Shoeboxed is not after the first ten receipts. You get five free credits for trying out the app, and five more for signing up for a free account; using the app costs $9.95 a month up to 50 receipts.
