FarFinder review

The FarFinder iPhone app gives you full access to any Mac through your iPhone making it a fully functional wireless remote connection to your Mac and all its connected devices.

This iPhone app allows secure and remote browsing to your Mac using your Macs login and password. It allows Spotlight search throughout your Mac. View documents e.g. iWork (Pages, Numbers and Keynote), Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), PDF, RTF, Plain Text, media files and images in standard iPhone format. The Farfinder app gives you access to files and folders in your Mac without the need to download them first. You can choose to make a copy of these files to your iPhone using this iPhone app.

The FarFinder iPhone app allows access to high resolution files which a normal phone cannot handle, such as PhotoShop. You can also take pictures using iSight which is helpful. File transfers are secure.

Note that this iPhone app is not limited to Mac users since Windows and Linux users can also access their files. For full functionality of this app you will need to download and install the software from flyingmac.com. FarFinder is a useful app that helps people on the go access their Mac. A great app for productivity, travel and remote access. With the FarFinder iPhone app, your Mac is *never* too far away.

The FarFinder app is free, but to use it, you need to purchase the Mac app. Good thing here is there are no monthly fees, just the one time charge for the software. You may install FarFinder on multiple computers providing you are the only user of FarFinder. Right now Flyingmac is giving away a 20 day free trial and offering the software for $20 which ends Oct. 22nd 2009 at which point the price increases back to $35.
