When you send photos taken on your iPhone by email, the photo gets resized and compressed, and the EXIF data are stripped out before it is sent out so you loose some image quality and sharpness that the original photo has. As a result of this frustration, 3rd part native apps have been created that allow you to email the full size photo. Some of them also support built in sending of you iPhone pics to Flickr (the Photo Sharing portal owned by Yahoo).
Pushr is a native iPhone application that will take the images in your Camera Roll album (in other words, pictures that you’ve taken using the built-in Camera application) and upload them directly from your iPhone to your Flickr account. it doesn’t do any fancy mangling either.
iFlickr is another native Flickr app for the iPhone. It also has built in support for uploading photos directly from the Camera. Some of the features of this app are support for Tagging and Geotagging, Auto rotation, and Continuous shoot mode.
Finally SendPics by Erica Sadun, which is available via Installer.app or iBrickr, is another native photo app that allows you to select a photo from your iPhone’s Photos app and email it at full resolution. You can even upload the photo using the upload by email service to your Flickr account and even add tags and descriptions on the email body. The advantage of this app over the other two is that you don’t have to send your photo immediately after you take it, and that you can send the photo to anyone with an email account, and not just Flickr.
Use iPhone mods and hacks at your own risk! Installing 3rd Party iPhone apps requires you to jailbreak the iPhone before installing the native software and apps.
