If you are looking to share you iPhone’s internet connection with your laptop, otherwise known as Tethering, or send photos in your text messages, otherwise known as MMS, you may find out that your iPhone is not able to do these things depending on your mobile provider. The folks over at benam.at have come up with the “iPhone Help Center” which links to simple and easy to install configs that you can add to your iPhone that will enable these features. Mobileconfigs, and MMS-Settings for your provider can be installed directly on your iPhone, no hacking or jailbreaking is required. Just pick your country and your provider and follow the on screen instructions from your iPhone. After the short reset you can MMS, use the Voicemail AND you have Tethering enabled.
To use a Mobileconfig you need at least Firmware 3.0. The app provides pre-configured settings or you can create your own using the Mobileconfig Generator. If MMS or VVM stops working on your official iPhone Provider Device, go to: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
You can also change the carrier settings later after the installation of a mobileconfig under Settings > Nework > Cellular Data Network.
Caution! Use these services and config files on your own risk. At this point, BenM.at (http://www.benm.at/help/) only offers the pure configurations, please note and respect your phone contracts. Check your contract, prices for data usage and the APN settings for your mobile network before using these .mobileconfig files. Otherwise high costs arise!
Use iPhone mods and hacks at your own risk!
