Dexter is the killer 3D iPhone game based on the hit Showtime original series with almost 400MB of graphics, sounds and bloody kills. Go around, and capture serial killers, bring them back to the kill room, make them confess to what they did and slash away with your arsenal of cutting tools. The graphics are in 3D and quite intensive so on if you are using older iPhone hardware and software them might seem a little choppy at times and the way Dexter moves could also be more fluid. The developers must have spent a ton of time on the graphics engine to create something this appealing and flawless for the iPhone. You get 3 different camera angles to choose from.
The audio commentary is excellent, almost as good as the show itself. They actually put in over 1000 lines of dialog and used the real voice of Michael C. Hall for the iPhone game. The game overall is about 8-10 hours long, which is most likely a record on the iPhone. You get a lot of various activities such as picking locks, interrogating killers, looking for clues. The game itself, if you have not seen the show is almost like a stealth killing game with a detail story line. Movement controls are done using a virtual onscreen d-pad, and killing people is done by slashing your fingers across the screen. Apparently this is the 1st episode of a 4 episode game series, so we will be looking forward to the upcoming ones.
A word of caution to the Dexter unaware crowd: this game, just like the TV Show, is pretty dark with lots of killing and blood all over the place, and the App Store has a 17 or older rating slapped on it for Violence, Profanity, and Fear. Dexter on the iPhone is a must have for Dexter fans. The game has some minor issues but that is to be expected with a monster of an app like this.
