The developers at ustwo have done it again. the ..™ is the second revision in the fun little iPhone game starring a simple little ball that moves across a black plain gobbling up blue balls and avoiding the red balls. You have to eat as many blue balls as you can, or your white ball will shrink and disappear into nothing eventually. The sequel packs a punch compared to the first version of the dot game (iTunes link) as it is rendered in full 3D giving the game a space like feel which feels real as you move across a curved stripe ground with neon colors and a star filled backdrop.

The ..TM iPhone game features physics based controls. Tilt your iPhone left or right to maneuver the playing field. Sudden movements are only going to shorten your lifespan, so work on smooth controlled mini-movements. While it can take some time to get used to the control and interface in the game, once you start getting a feel for it, you’ll start getting hooked on the rush it can bring as you get further and further in the game.

There is no scoring in the ..™ game, so your score is just the number of seconds you lasted before your ball dies. Once you’re done, you can post your high score to Twitter to make your followers jealous. The game has a fun robot inspired soundtrack while you play garnished with cute little sound effects which complement the light humorous feel of the game. It’s worth having around for the times when you want a game that fires up instantly without any frills that you can play for a minute or two.

A little bit of a side fact: Both the original dot game and the second dot dot game were created in under 48 hours from the drawing board to the App Store. That’s just two days to write the code, create the graphics, test it, launch it and have it ready for download. Now that’s what we call instant gratification.
