Rafal Staszewski has released a new iPhone app called Tiki Totems, a fun game that’s a twist on the Bejeweled-matching type of games. To appease the great Tiki God of Tikonia, you must bring the totem down by removing a set number of blocks. However, if you drop the totem out of sight or break it, the Tiki God will bury villages in lava. There are over 60 levels to enjoy.
To destroy a block, just tap on it; make sure the recharge bar down at the right-hand corner is full. The number of blocks that need to be destroyed is on the bottom left-hand corner. The pause button is on the top left, while the restart button is on the top right. Blocks can vary: black ones can’t be destroyed, purple ones can only be destroyed when touching other purple blocks, some blocks are bouncy, etc. The puzzles get more intricate the more levels you go through, so make sure you’re destroying blocks in the right order, or else you risk the Tiki God’s wrath.
Tiki Totems features some really fantastic physics; even if the level isn’t that hard to complete, it’s fun to tap the wrong block just to see how everything falls (especially when you have bouncy blocks). Coupled with fantastic theme music, angry explosion sound effects, and challenging game play, this game app knows how to do it right. Spend the dollar and you’ll soon find yourself addicted.
