TMZ is in the App Store and yes they have brought their ads along. Now you can get gossip updates on your iPhone as news breaks. If you feel nosy, or just like to dream, and love the Hollywood juice, this one should be a no brainer. The app is free but is ad supported. The ad takes up a ton of space on the bottom of the screen, and as you scroll through the news listings you will accidentally hit the ad, which is annoying but you can easily close the ad and get back to the app.

The photo galleries are nice and you can flick left and right to see additional photos in the sets. The video section is also preloaded with ads. You can share videos by email or add to your favorites for quick replay later. TMZ TV section is also video clips from the original show. The more section links you to a search section and your favorites.

One positive thing about the TMZ iPhone app vs. the TV show is that you only see the clips once, and you can catch it all in one viewing without having to watch the same segment repeated over and over again. The TMZ iPhone is good for people who don’t watch the show at all, because the content is apparently the same and would be redundant if you’ve already seen the show.
