Did you know that peanuts are one of the ingredients of dynamite? That’s one of the many facts you can find on Nicolay Nachev’s iPhone app, Brutal Illusion + 9000 Awesome Facts Lite. It makes for perfect idle reading: while you’re on the toilet, waiting in line, or generally bored out of your mind but too lazy to play a game. Just scroll with your finger or tap with your finger to get to the next fact.
The color scheme and interface (black background, white rounded font) is easy on the eyes, which is great since all you’re doing is reading. Facts span different genres, from sports to law to food, so there’s always a variety; it’s perfect (and can be addictive) for trivia hounds or people who dream of going on knowledge-based game shows. You might want to try the Pro version if you want facts about something specific or to save favorite facts…otherwise, the Lite version does the trick. And as for the former half of the name, just flip the iPhone on its side and hit Play Brutal Illusion–we’re not completely sure why the illusion is brutal, but it is quite amusing.
