TapnScrap review

TapnScrap is a nifty new app by Tappix that allows you to take the photos in your iPhone’s Photo Library and make digital scrapbooks right on the device itself. Tapnscrap features a very nice and straightforward layout making the whole scrapbooking process easy and smooth. There are no limits to the amount of pages or the amount of scrapbooks you can make.

The app comes with a preset bunch of backgrounds, frames and decorations, from fancy edge trims to shapes like hearts and stars and even pushpins and tape. Within each page, there is a default menu where you can insert those backgrounds, edge trims and shapes as well as inserting text and moving elements to the front or back of each other. Resizing text, shapes and images is simple, whichever element you wish to move or resize, you just tap to select (it will be outlined) and then using the pinch-pull, you zoom in or out and rotate to your liking. Another nice function of the app is the in-app photo filters which you can easily apply to the photos you insert in your scrapbooks.

Once you are finished with your scrapbook, just tap Done in the top right corner and your scrapbook will be saved for later viewing or editing. You can also email a higher quality version to yourself or your friends and family as well as connecting to FaceBook to upload it there.

TapnScrap is a truly unique and fun to use and for its first release, it is a very solid app with a lot of potential for more. I think a categorical organization of the shapes and other embellishments would be a nice addition, especially if they are planning to add more in the future. Those who love the arts and crafts but find little time to be able to do them may find this app a nice little fix to their stifled crafty side.
