ReelDirector review

Do you like shooting video clips with your iPhone 3GS? If you want turn those clips into great looking movies, there’s an app fro that, thanks to nexvio. ReelDirector is a profession video editing app for iPhone 3GS users with support for stitching video clips, text credits, drag and drop arrangement and smooth transitions.

Start by dragging in your video clips that you have already recorded onto the mixing reel timeline. From there each video clip can be dragged and dropped into position to reorder them. Then you can assign transition effects to each video to make the movie blend smoothly from one clip to the next. Transitions can be assigned to individual clips one at a time or to the entire project as a whole.

27 Transitions included in ReelDirector:
– Cross Dissolve
– Fade Through Black/White
– Flash Through Black/White
– Blur Fade (fade out of focus)
– Blur Cross (first scene fades out of focus)
– Wipe Left/Right/Up/Down
– Wipe Soft Left/Right/Up/Down
– Wipe Blend Left/Right/Up/Down
– Push Left/Right/Up/Down
– Push Left/Right/Up/Down with Border

You can then add text with opening or closing credits and position and style your text to where you want them to be in the movie. You can use the cursor to scrub and seek the movie in real time and see your final results including transitions, watermarks, and text. A missing feature that should be coming soon is voiceovers, which would allow you to add your own sound and music to the movie. Once you are done, you can send yourself the movie by email or save it to your Camera Roll.
