Frash

What’s this obsession with having Flash on idevices? Well if you’re one who really wants to play Flash games in Safari on your iPad, there might yet be hope for you. Frash is a Jailbreak hack by developer Comex which ports Flash support to the iPad. Currently Frash is unstable, but you can grab the Frash source files from github (http://github.com/comex/frash) build the project and install it on your Jailbroken iPad. Basically, Frash is forked from the Android Adobe Flash runtime to the iPhone. Comex wrote the compatibility layer. Frash runs in the iPad MobileSafari browser using iOS 4 and it will probably support iPhone devices soon.

Update: You can now install Frash on the following devices:
– iPhone 3Gs
– iPhone 4
– iPod Touch 3G
– iPad
Running:
– iOS 4.x for iPhones and iTouch
– iOS 3.2.x for iPads
To install Frash from Cydia, first remove any previous version of Frash from your device. Then just add the following source URL to Cydia: http://repo.benm.at from the Manage tab. Refresh Cydia and search for Frash in Cydia to find Frash in the repo and install it. You’ll be able to browse sites containing Flash files in Safari after a reboot of your device. You can optionally also install a Frash toggler for SBSettings called Frash Toogle.

While you can get Frash installed, be mindful of the fact that it is in pre-beta form right now, so expect a rough ride and backup as always.
