Champagne Popper review

Champagne Popper is a New Years app that offers options to help you bring in 2011. The app is free and was developed by Elite Gudz for an iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

There are three main functions of the app including a New Years countdown clock, which is adjustable for every time zone, champagne bottles designed with images of Maxim girls, and the ability to import your contacts’ information and set up a pre-loaded message in order to send everyone a New Years greeting at midnight your time.

Once you choose a bottle, you can shake it and make it pop at 12AM signifying the exciting start of a new year. You do not have to wait until New Years, you can pop the bottles whenever you want. The message you choose to send out to a group of contacts of your choice will automatically appear at the time you set to send it out and it will prompt you to approve it before actually sending it. There are 3 champagne bottle designs; 2 bottles have pictures of scantily clad women on them and the third is an advertisement for Elite Gudz. The app plays trance music when you use it to get you pumped for your big night out. In the Options section you can set a time and date for the app to auto sync, you can connect to Facebook or Twitter, and you can turn push notifications on and off.

The countdown is the best part of Champagne Popper. At the bottom of the screen is a months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds digital countdown clock that keeps you privy to exactly when 2011 will descend upon us. I do not have a real interest in Champagne Popper because the lack of diversity in the bottle designs. If they had made one for the ladies I may have been more inclined to push the app. The thing that confused me about Champagne Popper is that it is the sort of app that I can see a woman being interested in, but it is sponsored by Maxim and panders to males.
