Local Concerts review

If you love concerts, you’ll gonna love the iLike app on your iPhone. iLike has created a simple and free iPhone app called Local Concerts, that find gigs close to your GPS location. Get alerted of when your favorite artists are coming to town. The first time you run the iLike app, do it on a WiFi connection, as it will download a large amount of data about upcoming concerts. The interface is dead simple to navigate. There are 2 tabs, Shows and Venues. The show tab lists shows sorted by date and lets you filter them by popularity. Scroll down through the list of shows with nice thumbnail previews of each artist or performer. Tap any show to view details about the concert, which includes links to buy tickets via Safari and Maps. From here you can also see other shows playing at the given venue. The venues tab is a alphabetical view of all arenas in your local area. The settings of the app let you narrow down the search radius and specify a different location manually if you wish. Lastly you can find concerts or venues by keyword. Overal Local Concerts brings iLike concert information to your iPhone or iPod touch with a great simple to use UI and fast loading app. The app is not limited to concerts and includes other events like comedy shows, late night performances and more.

A new version of the Local Concerts app will add the following features:
– Concert calendar personalized to your music library
– Get notified when your artists announce local shows
– Mark your favorite venues
– Email shows to your friends
