Tarot Royale review

I was a little skeptical at the thought of a Tarot card app. Seeing as how the fundamental idea behind Tarot is to physically hold the cards before you cut them, focusing your thinking on any questions you would like answered in order to imbue the cards with your energy, getting this experience through my iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, just seemed wrong. After thoroughly exploring the app, however, I have come to accept that Tarot Royale is very well developed and an eerily accurate mind reader. Tarot has been said to represent a “royal road” to wisdom, which may have been the source of the “Royale” in the title. It costs $1.99 and was developed by Dendrocom.

Tarot has four suits, cups, swords, clubs, and coins and each of the suits has pip cards numbering from ace to ten and four face cards. These are known as minor arcana. In addition to this there are 21 trump suits and then a single card called “the fool,” which is equivocal to a joker card. These trump suit cards are known as major arcana. There are different spreads that correspond to what types of questions you have. The spreads included in this app are Single Card, 3-Card, and Celtic Cross. If you choose Single Card, you can choose from the options of Love, Health, Money or Other. If you choose Other then the card you pick can represent any major category or concept you may be pondering. Any of the other spreads provides you with an in-depth interpretation. You have the option of using the full deck or using the major arcana cards only.

To cut the cards you can either swipe to cut, shake to cut, pick the cards, or set up auto-cut. The graphics are beautiful and the app could not be more easy to use. In the reference section of the app you are given a detailed description of the cards including each of the major arcana and all four of the pip suits.

I love Tarot Royale use this app every single day. Of course the cards are not meant to be taken literally, but sometimes you need something to sway your mind in one direction or another. Keep it to yourself or share it with your friends, either way prepare to be endlessly entertained.
