iSpoof Walken review

iSpoof Walken is an iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad app that is a interactive sound player by Rocket5Studios. You touch on images on the screen and a Christopher Walken voice-over plays, usually relating to the object you touched.

First of all, Christopher Walken is the man. He is the strangest, captivating, bizarre, actor who ever stepped in front of a camera. Walken is the main character to this app and his voice is lovingly imitated. The strange things that you can hear from touching stuff in Walken’s room are great and extremely entertaining.

Not much of it comes from any real source, so don’t expect too many references to Hair Spray, Pulp Fiction, Saturday Night Live, or any of his Full-Motion video game performances. The audio is frightful, funny, disturbing, and much of the time, really accurate. Clearly, you can tell it’s someone imitating Walken, yet it’s still really good.

This is an app for the bored. More than 150 recorded responses with each item in the room providing different reactions and stories. Having a Christopher Walken voice tell you that it’s because of his boxing that an entire species of Rhino is now extinct is surreal.

I have no idea what this game is really about, but I do know that you are talking to me all wrong… it’s the wrong tone. You do it again and I’ll stab you in the face with a soldering iron. Hey, tell me, does your mother sew? BOOM! Get her to sew that!

I can imagine more scenes, more dialog lines, and expansions on this concept. Great voice over, unique concept. Excellent work and the love of the actor shows.
