Released by Jeff Hobson and Michael Mode, Best Jokes Ever is a compilation of jokes they’ve heard and collected across a period of over twelve years. Unlike other joke apps which may try to attract you with the quantity of jokes, Best Jokes Ever only contains funnies that have been deemed worthy of a laugh. Even so, you won’t have to worry about a meager selection because the app has over 1,500 jokes in its database.

Recognizing that humor is extremely subjective, jokes are organized in various ways. From the Main Menu, you can select jokes by category, type and content level. Jokes are even designated with an “Adaptable” category, so you find ones about specific groups or people (sports teams, colleges, areas, occupations) that you can change to fit to your audience. By Type, jokes are labeled as Quick, Story, Gross, Silly or even Yo Momma Jokes. Whether you’re just looking for a bunch of one-liners or a funny story, you can do so. You can also quickly search by keyword if you have a particular joke in mind.

Best Jokes Ever caters to all humor and contains jokes across all content levels, however if you have young children or suggestive or adult humor isn’t really your thing, the app has included a content filter. You can also set a password for your filter to ensure they will never be accessed by curious minds.

On the joke screen, if you like you can copy it to your clipboard, email it and also save it in your Favorites, where there is a default list they will be added to but you can also easily create your own jokes lists. There are also sound bytes for laughter and the “ba dum pscht” to finish your joke with flair.

Best Jokes Ever is a surprisingly capable joke app and is currently in the App Store for $1.99. There are a few repeats and typos but for the most part, the jokes were fresh and I definitely chuckled, if not straight up laughed at many of them. There really is something for everyone and combined with the extra bits of the app; the sound bytes, the categories and ability to search and add favorites, Best Jokes Ever is a quality joke app that will definitely garner laughs, whether its for a crowd or for just yourself.
