Multi Measures review

Multi Measures is a utility app. by SkyPaw that acts as a multi-functional measuring device complete with a protractor, ruler, surface level, spirit level, plumb bob, and seismometer. You can have these six tools at your disposal anytime, anywhere. I don’t know how often you need a plumb bob (I had to look it up, I didn’t even know what it was) but I can definitely see the ruler and levels coming in very handy.

The app. is sleek looking with a white/black/grey color scheme with bits of red and blue and the menu wheel where you pick your measuring device from is cooler than most menus I see on apps. In the upper left hand corner there is a number (from 001-006) and then the name of the measuring device underneath it. The wheel makes a clicking sound as you tap each option, and has an “OK” button in the middle of the wheel that you can tap to go to that device. Once you are working within a specific device, there are three small icons in the upper right corner. The first is a lock button that you can tap if you want your measuring tool to stop on the place you currently have it. This is obviously super important, especially when dealing with precise measurements. The second icon is an info button where you can change the general settings of the app. (sound, help, and menu orientation) or where you can change the settings of each particular measuring device. For example, you can adjust the sensitivity of your surface level or adjust the calibration on your plumb bob.

I measured some things just to make sure that the measurements are accurate- and they absolutely were. I was pleasantly surprised at how well everything works.

The best part about Multi Measures is that it’s only $0.99. Think about how much money you would spend on buying these six different tools, not to mention the value contained in the convenience of having them at your disposal anytime. If these are things you know that you’ll need, then I’d say it’s a great buy.
