Rebate Tracker review

Many people buy items from companies that promise to send you some of your money back, but then forget to send in the rebates. Well, Branden Silva is here to help you out with the new iPhone app, Rebate Tracker. This neat little app is exactly what it sounds like: it’ll help you track your rebates from filling out forms to depositing the check. Just open it up, tap the large green + sign, and fill in all the pertinent information. Once done, the item should show up in your Inbox, where you access it and check off all the usual steps in the rebate’s Checklist; if there’s one required that isn’t on the five general steps, you can edit directives in, as well. Once you’ve checked off Mailed Rebate, it will show up in your In Mail; checking off Received Check will move it to the Received section as a cheque graphic, which will be stamped with Deposited as soon as you check off Deposited Check.

Rebate Tracker is simple, intuitive, and great for organization purposes–no more hanging onto loose papers! Now you can just open up this app to make sure you’re on track. The iPhone app is easy to navigate and pretty to look at, to boot. It’s still a work in progress, though, so expect some bugs while you’re trying it out; hopefully it’ll be updated soon. A suggestion to make it even easier to use would be to include a Done button on the Checklist menu itself, instead of having to go back to the Inbox and tapping Done there. Or a feature that pops up to tell us why our cheque was stamped Voided. Rebate Tracker is perfect for this post-holiday time, and for frequent shoppers and deal hounds, so pick up this app if you’re one for organization and less clutter.
