Where To Wee review

When you gotta go, you gotta know…where a bathroom can be found. (Shamelessly stolen and qualified from Where To Wee’s main screen.) A road trip is hard enough without having to take unplanned pit stops, so people with small bladders, take note of this Where To Wee app: it helps you find and rate restrooms worldwide. Just let the GPS locate your location, choose a gender, and let the app find the restrooms nearest to you. The default view is of a map, but tapping on the button on the top right corner will take you to a text listing…in the form of a roll of toilet paper. Tapping the arrow on the bottom of the screen will bring up a row of icons that you can use to filter your search, such as availability of automatic flushing or toilet seat covers (descriptions of all icons can be found in the Help section). Tapping on the green icon will bring you to the bathroom’s information screen.

In addition to locating a bathroom, you can also add or rate a bathroom you come across. The three criteria they use to rate are represented by a sink, a roll of toilet paper, and a bar of soap…all from pristine to gross conditions. There’s even an option to take pictures of a restroom (please PLEASE be tasteful). That way, other people can see if a certain restroom is a happenin’ place, or something to be condemned. For such a potentially disgusting topic, this app is very well-designed: the graphics are great (the list of locations on a roll of toilet paper is a killer idea) and the layout is easy to navigate. The concept of Where To Wee is fantastic, but is only about as useful as its contributors: there’s no way to look for a restroom if none are listed in the first place.
