Google has announced a Web-based, iPhone-optimized version of Google Talk. Visit Google Talk’s website www.google.com/talk on your iPhone or iPod touch and you will see the newly launched iPhone version of the Google Talk webapp. As with any other webpp, there is nothing to download or install.
So now you will be able to make VOIP phone calls on your iPhone or iPod touch with the power of Google Talk to chat with your Google contacts.
Note: The iPhone doesn’t currently support background processes. Closing the Safari window, will change your status to unavailable.
You must be using an iPhone to see the iPhone version of this app. More info here
I have the iPhone and I use google talk all the time. I Love to use it on my iPhone, but the only issue is that it does not have the capability to push notifications to me. Everytime that I leave the application it signs me out… will there ever come a day when you can use google talk on the iPhone with push notifications?
