iConcertCal is an iPhone app that scans your iPod music library and creates a personalized concert calendar for shows coming up in your area. Mixing together the GPS capability of the iPHone with your music library, iConcertCal tells you when the artists are playing shows in your city. After loading the iConcertCal app, it takes a few moments to scan your music, and looks through all the artists. Under the My Shows tab you will see a list of concerts for any artist that has an upcoming gig within a configurable radius. Other tabs include All Shows, Venus, Search and Options. The All Shows tab lets you browse through all concerts in your city, while Venues gives you the ability to browse and sort places by either distance or by name, and even lets you list all shows or filter today’s events.

Once you get to a show you like, the details pages will show you an album cover, and 4 additional buttons. You can load a map with directions to the venue, buy tickets to the concert from TicketMaster via Safari, listen to songs in iTunes, or email the concert details to a friend. From here you can also tap the star button to add the artist to your artist list to track future concerts in your area. The artists captured from your iPhone or added by you while browsing in iConcertCal can be managed and modified in the options tab. Options also let you change and manage your location. Finally, if you don’t sync all your music with your iPhone, the iConcertCal app offers a free iTunes plugin that you can install on your PC or MAC that can sync all your iTunes artists with your iConcertCal app. The search tab is good for finding local upcoming concerts quickly by keyword. iConcertCal is a great way to keep in touch with your favorite artists and make sure you never miss a great local show.
