If you’re looking for an educational Brain Age type game for your iPhone, take a look at the app from Softbank called Brain Training Unotan. The Unotan game is filled with a bunch of various games that test your memory, concentration and intuition in a variety of ways, aimed at improving your short term memory.
The interface is quite simple (maybe a little bit too simple) and easy to learn. The games are:
Memory Training: Remember Colors, Remember Numbers, Remember Circumstances, Remember Faces, and Remember Images.
Concentration Training: Find a Match, Shape Recognition, Match the Kanji Characters, Remember Sequence, and Moving Dots.
Intuition Training: Dots (this one reminds us of the guy in the movie Rain Man), Colors, Find the Goal, Total Amount of coins, and Addition.
Brain Training Unotan is great for anyone who wants to keep themselves mentally fit, wake up your mind in the morning, for students needing some sort of external mental stimulation, or even for younger kids who maybe interested in developing their mental strength. The games can also become addicting themselves so be careful. The only gripe we have with this game is the eerie sounding music, which you are able to turn off, and the clip art type graphics.
This 3rd Party App is available at the Apple iTunes AppStore. Browse the full list of all AppStore apps filed under the AppStore category.
Sounds interesting. Another great brain training app is Brain Fitness Pro from Mind Sparke. This app uses a scientifically proven training protocol that has been shown to increase intelligence if you follow the daily training regimen for at least 19 days.
