iNinja is a shooting iPhone game where you touch screen with a flicking motion to throw shuriken (throwing stars) at flying Ninjas. The game isn’t just about hitting enemy ninja with shuriken, however. Players can also set off various one-hit-kill traps, which operate realistically thanks to the physics engine.
In addition to giving players the fun of deep strategic gameplay in its 34 singleplayer stages loaded with traps, iNinja also features a versus mode wherein two players can battle each other on their iPhones. In versus mode the objective is to shoot the green ball into the opponent’s goal just like air hockey. However, the play method of hitting the ball with throwing stars is different than that of air hockey where you hit the puck directly, allowing players to enjoy a new type of strategy by making powerful smashes and receives, ricocheting shuriken off of the walls, and setting up their own original shuriken defenses. On top of this there are also nine handicap options available to account for differences in skill.
Players who choose a low handicap level will have larger shuriken that make for easier defense and shooting, while those who go for a higher level will be able to perfect their skills with techniques like ricocheting shuriken, making for a game that can suit any pairing of players on the spot. As if this weren’t enough, there are also various game modes to test players’ limits like time attack and super time attack (which lets the player challenge the final stage right away), so there is a wide variety of gameplay for all kinds of players to enjoy.
