R.O.F.F.L.E. review

R.O.F.F.L.E., short for Running on the Floor Feeling Like Evil, is a new platform-shooting game unveiled by Red Cabana Studios. In this game you find your way around different maps, completing achievements in order to continue on fighting and shooting robots.

The achievements are listed in the “achievements and weapons” section on the home screen. In order to complete them, you first need to go to you weapons list in the section mentioned above. Once you’re there, you’ll see which achievements to complete in order to get a weapon. Then, complete the corresponding achievement to gain that weapon, to complete more achievements, and so on. The achievements you’ll have to finish are something like these: kill 15 robots using punches only in one minute, or shoot 10 robots in one minute. Some of the achievements require a bit of strategy. Once you’ve maneuvered through the pages, you can sit back and start shooting things. If this sounds like a lot of running around to simply start killing robots, then you and I are on the same page.

The controls are easy to get the hang of, there is a button to jump, and buttons to move from left to right. To shoot, just point at what you want dead. Once you begin to play, the graphics are pretty simple; you’re a stick figure. A big plus in this game is you can zoom in and out to get a better idea of your map by using your two fingers, just as you normally would zoom in and out on your iPhone. The music and sound effects are great too. At the moment I’m in a map that has a waterfall and it sounds like it’s raining at my desk. If anything I’ve got one of those “sleep to the calming sounds of rain” apps now.
