Asterock is an iPhone game that brings asteroids like gameplay to your mobile device with a twist including 15 levels of fast pace shooting, dodging and blasting UFOs and stars.
To move your space ship, you tap and hold anywhere on the screen you want to move to. To shoop you single tap anywhere on the screen you have an enemy. You can tap multiple times for multiple shots in a row. To place bombs that self destruct, tap with 2 fingers anywhere on the screen. Finally to move for a few seconds at a fast speed just swipe your finger on the screen as you hold to move. As you play you can play various power-ups that improve your shooting abilities such as laser, multiple shots, and shields. Each level or mode ends when you see a wormhole in the center of the screen, into which you need to go in order to move on to the next level.
Asterock has 3 difficulty modes and if you play the challenge mode you get to play in 12 modes to work your way through including modes like Tap Tap Tap, Solar Wind, Minefield and No Mercy. The graphics in the game are not too sophisticated but the gameplay is pretty smooth and get addictive quite easkly. To add to the excitement, Andesite Studios actually uses NASA images as the background spacial images used on in the game itself.
