Ballix

Can you keep track of a hole bunch of balls? Ballix is a fun and challenging puzzle game for the iPhone where you help route colored balls falling down a complex set of rails to their color matched destination by flipping switches to control their path. Balls come rolling down one at a time and they bump into objects and fall down tunnels, pipes, and pathwayws. Just tap and switch their path enough to make sure they end up and a matching destination.

You have, red, blue, yellow, and green balls, each with their own corresponding holes. Besides switches, there are also pipes, teleporters, trun-tables, morphers, multi-holes, and you are also in charge of opening and closing the holes for your balls in the harder levels. Ballix is by no means a cakewalk, and will require your utmost attention to get a perfect round achieved. The rack of balls on top is what you need to accomplish for the given level. You’ll want to get used to looking at the top to see what ball is coming up next so that you can plan your routes and levers ahead of time.

Ballix has a whopping 42 levels each with increasing difficulty requiring creative planning and on the fly snap judgments. A great game to help improve your coordination, reaction, and problem-solving skills on the iPhone. If you’re fortunate enough to make it to the very last level, you will experience what Play Mobility calls “The Secret of the Universe”.

The graphics are simple and clean, and there is also a trance like soundtrack to accompany you while you sink balls. The game keeps track of your stats for 6 ranges of levels, and also comes with a nice selection of help screens to get you familiar with the gameplay. We can’t really pick on anything here except for maybe the app icon could be spruced up a bit.
