Undercroft is an old school turn based role playing game for the iPhone. You walk around a fantasy story world filled with dangerous creatures, obstacles and challenges. You are in charge of your heroes who can be in a set of 5 classes each with their own bonuses, and unique skills. You use various pieces of inventory and skill to train your heroes through the game. The inventory of 750 items you come across include gloves, helmets, cloacks, weapons, armors, shields, belts, boots, and jewelry. Explore secrets of the tombs and its magic and monsters. The developer even has a full handbook for you to look over.
Movements are done using a virtual directional pad on the bottom right side of the iPhone screen. The graphics are retro classic and very nicely done. The game has an extensive plot and is supposed to give you 20 hours of playing time, and a bunch of environments like fiery pits, dark underground to forests, snowy mountain, and a large city. Great iPhone game for any fan of classic RPG games. There is a free version of the Undercroft which you can try if you want to get a feel is first. Undercroft is a no nonsense strategy based RPG game with multiple roles and character development. You will love Undercroft if you enjoyed playing classic video games such as Wizardry and The Bard’s Tale.
